The Dactyls Visit Archetypus
Edgewater, New Jersey
April 5, 2002

Tom Ensey is a friend of mine that writes for a newspaper in Alabama. He's always emailing me these bizarre internet things to check out, and the latest was Midnight Society, a web site detailing the more interesting nooks and crannies around the NY/NJ metro area. While poking around their site I came across Archetypus - the coolest coffee house I'd ever seen. Aimee and I decided we had to get a closer look.

We went armed with the new digital camera and a sense of adventure. The outrageous interior design provides a unique, exciting atmosphere and definitely makes it worth the trip to Edgewater, NJ just for a cup of java. (Edgewater is about 20-30 minutes from my house, just down the Hudson River from where we went hiking under the GWB.). Add to that mostly reasonable prices (but they only accept cash!), a menu to please all eating styles, and phenomenal desserts and coffee. We totally lucked out too - we were seated at what Midnight Society labeled "one of the nicest tables you can get." SCORE! We will definitely be going back in the near future, with friends! :)
